Mr Rex is one of the latest sports betting sites set up by Aspire Global, who have quickly established a name for themselves in the UK online betting sector. Many of their best casinos and sportsbook sites, such as Hopa and Karamba, have become high-profile operators in this market, and Aspire are clearly hoping that Mr Rex will prove just as successful.

Set up in 2023, the Mr Rex site presents newcomers with a colourful orange theme and is represented by a well-dressed man in a bowler hat, suggesting that the brand is aiming for a certain tongue-in-cheek exclusivity. The site offers a comprehensive sports betting platform too though, along with a casino and live casino section for those who like their slots or table games. Mr Rex also offers a welcome bonus for new customers and some popular modern features, such as a range of flexible banking options.

In this comprehensive Mr Rex review, we will take a closer look at the entire sports betting platform. Ultimately, we’ll find out how well it compares to the competition, and exactly what sports betting fans can expect.

Mr Rex Sign-Up Offer

Getting a foothold in the highly competitive online sports betting is a challenge for new operators. Mr Rex has worked hard to attract new business by offering a headline welcome bonus offer, for those who sign up to a new account.

Mr Rex sign up offer

The sign up sportsbook offer at Mr Rex is a ‘Bet £15 Get £10’ promotion, and it can be claimed by all new customers who follow these simple steps.

As with all welcome bonuses, the Mr Rex sign-up deal comes with a number of terms and conditions attached. We’ve outlined the key rules below:

The Mr Rex sign-up offer does not stand out in terms of the amount of money available. We have come across welcome bonuses offering £30 or more at some sportsbooks, for the same type of deal, so the £10 on offer here is not that remarkable.

The same applies to the percentage of the bonus. The standard deposit match bonus for new customers in the sports betting sector is a 100% deposit match, at least. In this case though, it is effectively only a 66% match, requiring new customers to make a £15 bet to earn a £10 free bet. We also feel that the restrictions in terms of payment methods are a little outdated, although again, this is common practice in the industry.

Overall, while this is not a bad welcome bonus by the standards of the UK sports betting sector, it does not particularly stand out as a good deal for new customers.

Mr Rex Ongoing Promotions

It is important for online casinos to look after regular customers as well as newcomers, so we were disappointed to find that the range of bonuses and promotions was extremely small at Mr Rex. In fact, the Promotions page lists only two bonuses: the aforementioned welcome bonus, and a similar welcome bonus for those who sign up to the casino part of the site.

We think this is one area where Mr Rex can improve significantly. Doing so would be easy, by offering both some form of ongoing Loyalty Program, and more ad-hoc promotions of the kind that are seen regularly in the UK industry. The likes of money-back deals, acca insurance, best odds guaranteed, and more are easy to implement, but go a long way towards helping punters.

Mr Rex Markets and Betting Markets

Aspire Global has extensive expertise in the development of sports betting platforms. Their sites generally offer a wide variety of betting markets, and Mr Rex is no different, with the platform offering markets on nearly 30 different sports.

Football is unsurprisingly the most prominent sport, offering the biggest amount of markets. The bulk of other main popular UK sports, such as cricket, golf, tennis, boxing, darts, and so on, are also featured. Snooker and speedway, as well as auto racing, MMA, winter sports and even table tennis, are among the lesser-known sports that are covered on the site.

Fans of American sports are also well-served. The NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL are all covered, with in-play and pre-match betting markets available. We were particularly glad to see Mr. Rex treat eSports, a rapidly developing business, with the respect it deserves. Some of the most popular titles, most notably CS:GO and Dota 2, have their own betting markets, with both top tournaments and regular league fixtures covered.

Obviously, some of the more established sports betting sites out there may offer a slightly higher number of sports. Overall though, the coverage at Mr Rex is solid, and should meet the needs of almost all betting fans.

Mr Rex Markets

Football

Mr Rex has definitely made the beautiful game their primary focus, which is understandable given the dominance of the sport in the UK. Football constitutes the bulk of the markets available on the left-hand side of the home page, and dominates both the pre-match and in-play sections of the site.

The variety of football markets available here is impressive. These include the most important European tournaments, such as the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Serie A, along with the Europa League and Champions League.

The coverage of international football is also strong, including all of the major tournaments and international friendly games. We were also pleased to see a wide range of lower-profile competitions covered, including minor leagues and lower-age level competitions, from multiple continents.

Mr Rex also impresses with the market depth available on most of the football events. You can expect to find all of the most popular markets on the Mr Rex site, including:

Beyond these markets, we found that the full range of handicap betting markets was impressive, and the sometimes tricky concept of the Asian handicap was well-handled. For those who like to bet on specific player markets, there were also Anytime Goalscorer, First Goalscorer and First To Be Carded markets across all of the football events. Finally, for those who prefer to bet on outright markets, Mr Rex provides a decent number of choices, including Overall Winner markets across most leagues and tournaments.

Horse Racing

Horse racing has a long and rich association with the betting world. We were pleased to see that Mr Rex has recognised the importance of horse racing to UK punters, with an in-depth horse racing section.

The horse racing markets are available via a link that is immediately below the football section on the left-hand side of the home page. There is even an entire separate section for ante-post horse racing betting, which is popular with many UK punters.

The horse racing coverage itself is limited to the UK and Ireland, and there are no additional markets for each race event aside from Race Winner and Easy Way. The coverage of the core racing product is solid though, as are the odds, and both should meet the needs of most punters.

Tennis

Tennis is a significant factor in the betting sector, even if it doesn’t get the same attention as football. Fortunately, Mr Rex has shown this popular market the respect it deserves.

Its tennis betting coverage takes in the Grand Slam events and all of the tournaments on the ATP and WTA Tours. This includes match-by-match betting and outright markets, which open months in advance of each tournament. The individual events all have a host of markets including the most popular live betting options, meaning that – overall – the tennis betting fan is definitely well served by Mr Rex.

Other Sports

We’ve touched on a few of the biggest sports offered by Mr Rex above, but it is worth reiterating that its full range is very impressive. Often sportsbooks focus solely on the major sports and events, to the detriment of minor competitions. Mr Rex, however, does a good job of providing a diverse range of sports fans with betting opportunities.

Its US betting coverage is excellent, and this is certainly a growing area of interest for UK sports betting fans. You can also find some good representation for sports that are popular on continental Europe though, such as handball and even water polo. Finally, its eSports coverage surpasses that of many of the bigger-name betting brands, which have been slow to catch up with this sector of betting.

Live Betting

In-play betting has revolutionised the betting industry and it is now more important than ever for sportsbooks to provide good coverage in this area. Live betting preferences can vary wildly from punter to punter, and so meeting the needs of live betting fans involves providing the widest possible range of options.

The Mr Rex sportsbook makes it easy to navigate to the relevant in-play markets, either from the main page or via the dedicated In Play section. Football offers the highest number of in-play betting markets, but tennis and basketball also have plenty in place. The full range of live bet types is limited compared to those available before the game, but you still have a lot of options in terms of how and what you gamble on.

The only disappointment in the live betting section is that there is no live streaming service. Being able to watch the event in play is regarded as essential by many in-play bettors, so this is definitely one area that Mr Rex could improve going forward, if it truly wants to match the likes of Bet365 and other top brands.

Mr Rex App and Mobile Betting Options

Convenient and effective mobile betting is a must for a modern sportsbook operator. The Mr Rex team have done a reasonable job of providing a solid mobile service, but it won’t exactly blow you away in any department.

For starters, you won’t find a downloadable Mr Rex app for any operating system. This is fairly standard practice among new betting brands, unfortunately, so – while it’s certainly disappointing – it’s hardly a big surprise. Instead, you’ll be using the mobile version of the main website for all your betting needs.

The navigation for that side is solid. Switching between the pre-match and live betting portal, as well as moving from the sportsbook to the casino and live casino sectors, is quick and easy on the Mr Rex mobile platform. Live betting is prominent across the site, as it should be, although there is a problem with high-profile events being buried below those of less relevance. Certain contests may, however, be added to a favourites list, which both makes them easier to find, and may save a little time when placing live in-play bets on your mobile device.

Although there isn’t much wrong with the MrRex mobile site, it is fair to remark that – in its current form – it is a little basic. That said, the actual functionality of the mobile platform is fine. It also delivers in the key areas that mobile bettors will place the most weight on, like speed, account management tools, and access to markets and features.

Mr Rex Bookmaker Features

Choosing newer sites over well-known operators has some advantages, but one area where the newer sites can lag behind their high-profile rivals is in the provision of additional features. In the case of Mr Rex, while the cupboard isn’t exactly bare, there isn’t a huge amount to write home about.

The features with which Mr Rex excels are those that deal with live betting. The variety of in-play markets available is impressive, as is the quality of the in-play tools. Live bets are processed quickly, as are cash outs, making it easy and efficient to grab the best prices.

We were also impressed by the speed at which prices in live markets are updated, which strikes the right balance between changing quickly enough to ensure you are up to date, but not so quickly that you don’t have chance to grab the price. The withdrawal process is also fast and effective, making it easy to get hold of your money if you have some success.

The absence of live streaming is a significant drawback here, and detracts from the overall quality of the live betting platform. That said, you will find both a high-quality visualisation tool and live stats, both of which go some way towards making up for the lack of in-play video.

Mr Rex Sign Up Process

Although it may not be as eye-catching as a big welcome bonus, a high-quality signup process is nevertheless important for a new sportsbook. After all, the last thing you want is to attract new consumers, only to have them abandon the process because it takes so long to register.

We’re happy to report that this is not the case for new customers aiming to sign up with Mr Rex. The registration procedure here is easy to follow, and can be completed in a short space of time.

To get started, all you have to do is go to the website’s homepage and click ‘Join’ in the top-right corner. You will now be sent to the first screen of the sign up process, which has a few areas that you must fill out in order to set up your account, beginning with your email address. Next you have to choose a username and password, and – when this is done – you will have to complete the registration with your remaining personal details, including your date of birth, name, and address.

With all of the details completed, you are then ready to launch your new account. Click the button at the bottom of the sign up page, and – after just a few seconds – your account will be officially set up. You can then head to the Payment page, make your first deposit, and start betting.

Mr Rex ID Verification Process

As with all gambling operators in the UK, you will have to verify your identity with Mr Rex before you are able to withdraw funds from your account. This might be a little irritating, but it is a legal requirement for all bookmakers registered with the United Kingdom Gambling Commission, and is one of the key measures that operators must enforce to ensure that the site is safe.

The process itself is not that difficult, and can be completed fairly quickly. To do, simply follow these few steps:

  1. Log in to your Mr Rex account
  2. Click on ‘My Account’
  3. Select the ‘Documents Upload’ option
  4. Upload clear images of your ID documents (see below)

Mr Rex, like other British betting companies, requires two forms of identification from you. A recent utility bill or bank statement is required to confirm your home address, and the second piece of identification should be a picture ID that verifies your identity, such as a passport or driver’s licence.

After you’ve submitted both pieces, you should get a response from Mr Rex’s customer support staff quickly. They will either seek further verification from you, or – if everything goes well – they will authenticate your account and enable you to begin making withdrawals.

Banking Options

Aspire Global has plenty of experience in setting up a UK-friendly payment platform, and – like its other sites – Mr Rex offers a wide choice of payment alternatives that will suit those who use both traditional and modern forms of payment.

You may use a Visa or Mastercard debit card to make a deposit here, as well as bank transfers. There are also several eWallet options though, including PayPal, Neteller, Trustly, MuchBetter and Skrill, along with the prepaid Paysafecard. The minimum deposit amount is an industry-standard £10, and deposits are normally processed promptly, with no fees being charged.

You can make withdrawals in the same way as deposits (with the exception of Paysafecard deposits), and the minimum amount is £10. Withdrawal processing times vary based on the option you choose. For example, eWallets are the fastest, requiring up to 24 hours to complete, while debit card payments should take 2-5 business days, and bank transfers will take 3-5 days.

Brand Layout

It is difficult for new sports betting sites to differentiate themselves from the competition sometimes. Perhaps to combat this, Mr Rex has gone with a bold orange-and-black layout that certainly stands out.

It is worth remembering that Aspire have lots of experience in designing gambling sites, as they have worked with some of the big guns in the sports betting sector, as well as working on their own platforms. As such, plenty of thought and planning will have gone into the Mr Rex design.

The site itself is extremely minimalistic by the standards of modern betting platforms, and there is a vaguely Art Deco theme, with the font being particularly unusual. While this works well for the casino side of the site, we’re less convinced about the sports betting section, which seems to be an uneasy blend of modern information-packed minimalism and stylish design.

That said, the layout of the sports betting section is clear. You’ll experience no difficulty in navigating between markets, features and events, which is obviously the main focus for most sports betting fans.

Customer Support

Poor or inadequate customer support can quickly sink the reputation of even the best-designed sports betting platform. Aspire are seasoned operators in the regulated UK market though, so clearly understand the importance of providing a fast and effective customer service platform.

It’s disappointing, therefore, that they have made their customer support section so fiddly to find on Mr Rex. You won’t see any obvious links on the homepage – instead you’ll first have to scroll down, then click on the About Us link, and look for your required option. Clicking on Contact Us will then open up the email, Live Chat, and document uploading choices. Live chat is the quickest way to contact the support team, and we found the Mr Rex staff to be helpful and efficient, though the service operates from 08:00 to 00:00, rather than 24/7.

Company Details

While Mr Rex is a new brand, it is operated by Aspire Global, which has been successful in pursuing an ambitious strategy over the last several years. They also run two additional sports betting sites, Karamba and Hopa, and have assisted in the development of systems for a number of other major betting companies, making them one of the best-known companies in the business.

ASG Technologies, the official name of Aspire Global, is based in Malta, as are many top European sportsbooks. The fact that the company holds licences from both the United Kingdom Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority is an excellent sign, as both of these regulatory bodies demand extremely high standards from their licencees.

Mr Rex Bottom Line

Mr Rex is a curious blend of the modern and the traditional, with some aspects that work, and other elements that need improvement.

The design of the site is memorable, and that is obviously important to the business as it tries to carve out a niche in a crowded field. There will be many sports betting fans, however, who find the colour scheme and design aren’t conducive to a smooth betting experience. Other issues include the absence of downloadable mobile apps, and the lack of ongoing promotions or deals for regular customers – a common and popular perk offered by more established operators.

That said, Mr Rex still gets a lot of things right. The sports betting coverage is above average, with a healthy range of sports covered and a fine depth of market. Live betting options are plentiful (although it would obviously be preferable to have live streaming too), and there is a good range of banking options which should meet the needs of experienced gamblers and newcomers alike.

Overall, this is a promising start for Mr Rex. This could be a site worth following as it continues to develop over the next few months, but – even now – we’d recommend giving the ‘Bet £15, Get £10’ welcome offer a shot, and seeing how you feel about the platform for yourself.
