NetBet is a classic case of the ‘in-between’ sportsbook. It was actually launched almost two decades ago, in Madrid, and has enjoyed considerable success in continental Europe. Even considering all of that, it has still failed to break into the mainstream of British sports betting. This has come despite strong marketing efforts in the past couple of years, and the publicity that was generated when it became the first British bookie to accept bitcoin payments in 2016.

In our comprehensive NetBet review, we’ll investigate whether this experienced bookmaker deserves a lot more coverage, or whether they’re doomed to fly under the radar indefinitely. En route we’ll be looking at the promotions, betting markets, payment methods, and customer support which are on offer, plus plenty more besides. Ultimately, we’ll evaluate whether or not NetBet is worth your time and money.

NetBet Ongoing Promotions

NetBet’s welcome offer is certainly solid, but doesn’t exactly blow you away. Things actually pick up considerably when you get to their ongoing promotions, though. Acca Refund

This is a classic ‘acca insurance’ type of deal. To qualify, you must place a football accumulator bet with at least five selections, with minimum odds of 1/5 on each selection. Your stake can be up to £10, and most of the top European competitions – including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Champions League – are eligible.

If just one leg of your acca lets you down, you’ll get a refund on your stake (again, of up to £10). This is given as a free bet token, which can be used on any sport over the next seven days. While you obviously won’t get rich off this promotion, it’ll certainly lower your chances of making a loss.

Acca Boost

As the name suggests, this is another offer for the accumulator fans out you. While the previous deal helped you avoid losing money, however, this one is all about increasing your profits.

To trigger the deal, simply stick down a multiples wager with at least three selections on any eligible sport. These include football, tennis, and basketball. If your acca wins then your profits will be boosted, with the size of the boost depending on how many selections you had. Three selections will net you a 3% boost, four gets you 5%, five gets you 8%, and so on, all the way up to a mighty 50% for 13+ selections.

BetPlus

Like Acca Boost, BetPlus is another ongoing promotion designed to increase your profits on successful bets. The difference here, however, is that you don’t have full control over it.

BetPlus is similar to odds boosts on other sites. The bookie identifies certain markets, and artificially increases the prices on them. If you think that price offers good value, you can add it to your betslip as normal and wager on it as normal.

NBA Free Bet

Free bets are a valuable commodity for all sports bettors. NetBet don’t merely restrict them to the welcome offer, also dishing them out to existing customers via the NBA Free Bet deal.

To qualify, you must stake at least £10 on a 3+ selection NBA acca, with minimum odds of 2/5 per selection. Regardless of whether the bet wins or not, you will then receive a £5 free bet. This should also be used on the NBA, and you’re given four days in which to do so. Better still, this deal can be triggered once per week, every week throughout the NBA season.

Virtual Sport Free Bet

Similarly to the last deal, you’re betting £10 here to get a £5 free bet. The key differences are that the qualifying wager is a singles bet, rather than a multiples, and that it must be placed on virtual sports. The minimum qualifying odds are evens (2.0), and – once again – this offer can be triggered every week for a £5 token.

NetBet Markets And Betting Markets

Modern-day punters demand that their bookmaker covers the full spectrum of sports and other betting markets. Sure, some sports are more popular than others, but even the most obscure leagues and events have fans.

NetBet does an admirable job of offering odds on a wide range of sports. The site covers over 30 sports and hundreds of leagues. You’ll even find a variety of betting opportunities on dozens of eSports competitions. If it’s a slow sports day in the real world, punters can still get their fix by wagering on virtual sports like football and basketball.

Each event gives bettors a wonderful selection of betting options. For instance, those who like wagering on NHL games shouldn’t be surprised if they find over 100 different betting options for a single matchup. In addition to the usual Match Result and Totals wagers, NetBet lets you bet on an array of player, team, and game props. You can wager on winning margins, alternative totals, first team to score, and much more.

Whilst NetBet covers all mainstream sports, it also offers odds on a variety of less-popular sports and events. These include badminton, cycling, bandy, sailing, and table tennis. Put it this way: If there is a sporting event happening anywhere in the world, there’s a good chance that NetBet is offering odds on it. Be it pre-match betting, live betting, or futures, NetBet has you covered.

Football

Football is the most widely followed sport on the planet and NetBet’s coverage of it is phenomenal. Punters can choose from over 100 leagues and events including English Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, MLS, and all major continental competitions. You’ll also find a variety of leagues and events from smaller markets like Tunisia, Sweden, Mexico, Ukraine, Thailand, and dozens of other places all over the world.

Football fans will also be impressed by the sheer number of betting opportunities they have. EPL bettors are often presented with over 200 betting options for each game, and that doesn’t even include the many in-play and futures bets they can place. Aside from the standard Match Result and Over/Under Goals markets, you can also wager on the likes of:

Even the smaller leagues give you more than enough betting options to choose from, generally covering matches with well over 120 wagering options. This gives you the flexibility to go for a big payoff by betting on a major underdog, or play it safer by simply backing a favorite to win.

Horse Racing

Horse racing is another sport that has enormous  global appeal, and once again NetBet serves up a full menu of betting treats. You can find action from a whole range of tracks in the UK and Ireland, including Catterick, Leicester, Newcastle, Kempton, and plenty more besides. NetBet also features loads of races from tracks in other parts of the world, meaning you can wager on the ponies at almost any time of the day or night.

Regarding the actual odds, NetBet doesn’t have a specific Best Odds Guaranteed offer, which you’d find at many other sites. Their regular odds are still generally in line with what you’ll find elsewhere, however.

Tennis

It’s fair to say that NetBet serves up an ace with its tennis coverage. Between majors and smaller tournaments, NetBet offers a variety of odds on dozens of men’s and women’s events. Besides the obvious majors, other events include the UK Pro Series, ATP Rotterdam, WTA Lyon, and Challenger St. Petersburg.

You can bet on outright winners at these events, or choose from a wide range of pre-match and in-play options. These include Set Betting, Sets Handicap, Over/Under Games, 1st and 2nd Set Winner, and Exact Score.

Other Sports

As mentioned, NetBet covers literally dozens of sports, meaning this section could go on and on! We’ll condense it a little, however, by saying that you’ll find almost every major sport under the sun available to wager on at NetBet.

Baseball, basketball, golf, and cricket generate a lot of betting activity at the site, as do rugby, boxing, motorsports, and ice hockey. NetBet goes way beyond those mainstream sports though, providing odds on volleyball, table tennis, and many others. NetBet’s coverage of eSports is also very good, and includes the likes of CS:GO, LoL, and Dota 2.

Live Betting

NetBet’s live betting section is a hotbed of activity. Because the site features so many betting markets from all over the world, live betting opportunities are almost always available no matter what your local time is. Granted, NetBet doesn’t offer in-play wagering for every sport, but it’s in place for most major markets.

In general, NetBet gives you plenty of in-play betting options which are very similar to the pre-match choices. The biggest difference is that the odds change with exceptional rapidity, which means you need to act fast when you see a good opportunity.

The process of placing a wager here is just as straightforward as when placing a pre-match bet. Select the event, choose the wager and stake amount, and submit the bet. Don’t forget to take advantage of the cash out tool when appropriate too, which works quickly and reliably on NetBet.

NetBet App And Mobile Betting Options

Netbet app

You can take your sports betting with you wherever you go by downloading the NetBet mobile app. The iOS app is available at the App Store, whilst Android users can get it by clicking on the ‘Mobile App’ link at the bottom of NetBet’s main page. Of course, you don’t have to download the app to enjoy the convenience of mobile sports betting. NetBet is mobile compatible, which means you can access the entire site by simply using your mobile browser.

While there are a few subtle differences between the mobile and desktop platforms, they are generally very similar. With the mobile version, it’s easy to find your sport, search through the available betting options, and place your wagers. You can still use the bet builder, odds boost, and cash out features, in addition to placing live wagers, tracking scores, checking out statistics, and withdrawing your winnings while you’re on the go. We found the app to be very responsive with a decent connection, and experienced no crashes whatsoever throughout our testing.

NOTE: Customers must place a acca of at least £10 on any football with 4 selections or more minimum odds 1/2 (1.50) per selection. First bet placed will qualify. £5 Free Bet will be given on settlement. Valid once a week until 30th September 2024.

NetBet Bookmaker Features

NetBet can’t quite compare to the biggest bookies when it comes to special features, but there are actually quite a few useful tools here. In fact, the only major absence is live streaming. While this does seem to have been offered in the past, including for major markets like horse racing, it unfortunately isn’t in place now.

Netbet features

What is in place is a bet builder, called ‘Bet Maker’ here. Like other such tools, this makes it simple to craft same-game multiples on football markets. It’s extremely easy to use, and we’d hope to see it expanded into other sports in the near future. There’s also pulse betting – here called ‘SnapBet’ – which lets you wager on what’s going to happen in the next 30 seconds, minute, five minutes, or 10 minutes. Again, this is only available on live football right now. Add2Bet is another excellent feature, which actually allows you to edit your bets while they’re in-play, boosting your stake on the original odds you took instead of needing to double down with a whole new bet.

Elsewhere, NetBet has a nice variety of statistics available. When you find a game to wager on, click on the icon to the right of the individual matchup and they will pop up. You can choose from a number of categories such as H2H, fixtures, tables, and even the referees. This can really help you make informed decisions, and – in turn – increase your winnings.

Finally, there’s a handy cash out feature, which lets you close out either a portion of your bet or the entire thing before a match concludes. If your team is winning but the opponent is mounting a comeback, for example, you can cash out the bet to avoid losing it late in the game. Conversely, if your team is getting pounded, you can use the feature to get back a portion of your wager. You might not make a profit or break even, but getting back a little something is definitely better than nothing.

NetBet Sign Up Process

Opening a new NetBet account is very simple, and takes only about a minute of your time to do. You are required to provide some basic personal information, but rest assured that it is safe to do so – NetBet uses advanced internet security technology, such as SSL encryption and firewalls, to keep all of your information secure.

Using your desktop or mobile device, go to NetBet and click on the ‘Log In’ button at the top of the page. You can then hit the ‘Sign Up’ link in the popup box. You will first be asked to select your country of residence. You will then be prompted to enter your email address, choose a strong password, and select your betting currency. You can choose from a few different options here, from GBP to EUR, USD, and even CAD.

On the next page of the registration form, enter your full name, date of birth, and a username. Finally, enter your mobile number, full address, and indicate whether you would like to claim the welcome bonus.

Before being redirected to the banking section where you can make your first deposit, NetBet will give you the option of setting responsible gambling limits on your account. You can place a deposit limit here, engage a session timer, or limit both your staking and loss amounts. Once all that’s done your account will be created, and you’ll be free to make a deposit by clicking on your account balance in the top-right of the main page.

NetBet ID Verification Process

NetBet is required to verify the age, identity, and address of its customers. This process helps prevent such things as underage gambling, money laundering, and other fraudulent activities. You are strongly advised to do this as soon as possible so that you avoid any delays when you request a withdrawal.

To complete the verification process, simply follow these steps:

Whilst NetBet typically takes less than 24 hours to verify your information, it can take them up to 48 hours in some cases. You will receive an email letting you know whether your verification was successful, or if NetBet needs further information. In the meantime, you can still make deposits and place bets.

Banking Options

NetBet gives members a great selection of payment methods. When making a deposit you can choose between Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, Paysafecard, Trustly, ecoPayz, Google Pay, and more. All of those options have an industry-standard £10 minimum deposit, and NetBet will not charge you any fees (although the payment provider might). Most deposit methods are instant, but Trustly – which enables you to make bank transfers – can take up to 24 hours to process a payment. ecoPayz is surprisingly slow too, with deposits taking 2-4 days to go through.

Most of the same methods are available for withdrawals, with the obvious exception of Paysafecard. Withdrawal times can vary significantly depending on the method you choose. eWallets like PayPal should only require 24 hours at most, but debit card and bank transfer withdrawals can take up to four working days to process. Also, while smaller withdrawals are free, larger payouts will incur a processing fee. If you’re using GBP, then – for any withdrawals of £500 or more – you will be charged 1.5%.

NetBet Layout

NetBet is laid out in a plain and simple fashion which makes it easy to find your way around. The main page features some of the most popular live events that you can easily categorise by clicking on the appropriate sports tab. You can scroll through the various sports in the menu on the left side of the page, or use the search bar to find a particular match. Don’t forget to hit the statistics icon if you want to do some research and analysis.

Pretty much anything you’d need to access is one click away on this highly intuitive platform. Your account settings, balance, language preferences, and odds preferences are at the top of the page, whilst other important areas like the FAQ, T&Cs, and customer support are found near the bottom.

Customer Support

NetBet’s customer service team is on hand daily between 08:00 and 23:00 GMT. You can use the live chat feature or phone to immediately reach a helpful agent during office hours. If you don’t mind a short wait, you can send a detailed email.

NetBet also has an extensive FAQ section that offers solutions to the most common questions and problems. You can find answers by scrolling through the different categories, or type a specific question into the search bar.

Company Details

NetBet is owned and operated by NetBet Enterprises, which is based in Malta. The site launched in 2001 and has since expanded into other areas, including poker, lotto, online casino, and live casino games. NetBet is the official betting partner of Vasco da Gama FC and Red Bull Bragantino in the Brazilian Serie A football league, and has also sponsored Ligue Un’s Nice in the past.

NetBet’s British betting site is legitimised by its license with the UK Gambling Commission. It also has separate licenses to cover its operations elsewhere, including with the Malta Gaming Authority.

NetBet Bottom Line

NetBet remains relatively unknown amongst the British betting public. If they keep going like this, however, that will change significantly in the coming months and years. It’s no exaggeration to say that this is a match for the biggest names in the industry in most key ways.

For starters, NetBet nails most of the crucial fundamentals. The range of betting markets and payment methods is excellent, as is their customer service. Perhaps more excitingly, they also have a strong selection of ongoing promotions, and a particularly excellent collection of special features. The likes of pulse betting, live bet editing, and partial cash out are typically only offered on the very biggest sportsbooks. That NetBet manages to provide all these and more is very impressive indeed.

It’s hard to identify any major areas for improvement here. Live streaming would certainly be nice, but – as this has been offered by NetBet in the past – we’d expect it to make a return sooner rather than later. Aside from that, there are very few holes to pick. As such, we’d highly recommend creating a NetBet account, taking advantage of the ‘£30 in Free Bets and Spins’ welcome offer, and trying out this brilliantly well-rounded sportsbook for yourself.
